The Lights In My Eyes |
My struggle to re-claim all I once held within, and all I knew I could be. |
The trees scream your name
And I just want to feel that, again
That drunken feeling without wine
The passion that was half yours, all mine
Knowing that for five whole minutes, everything would be fine
As long as my heart didn’t cross that skinny line
Those minutes are sometimes all I choose to hold
Like a cup of espresso, grasped tightly in the cold
Those memories, made of gold.
Rich and everlasting.

If you were real, I would play
You. Like a second-hand guitar, both
Familiar and new.
If you were real, I would kiss
You. A wait longer than any
Airport, in this world or
In my head. Oh, if you were
Real.

Flickering stars, deliver
Messages to my
Eyes and I
Cry.
I read the message,
And I cry.

Is it funny,
Or tragic,
That you control my blood flow?
Even I, do not know
Anymore.
Melting
